Green Power Generation
We are acquiring, developing and operating renewable energy sources to achieve the NTT Group's "NTT Green Innovation toward 2040" and respond to our customers needs for green energy.
To respond to the needs of our customers and NTT Group companies for green energy, we are promoting the development of various renewable energy power plants, including solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass, through partnerships with our partners.
Unlike fossil energy sources such as oil and coal, renewable energies are energy sources that can be used permanently as energy sources.
With increasing general awareness of the need to realize a decarbonized society, renewable energies are attracting attention as one of the future's primary sources of electricity, as they do not emit greenhouse gases in power generation, and more companies and local governments are adopting them.
Initiatives according to power generation type
The capacity of NTT Anode Energy's renewable energy sources was 2.69TWh, including projects under development, enabling us to achieve our 2030 target. (As of end of June 2023)

Solar power generation
- Commences joint operation of solar power generation company with Tokyo Century Corporation(October 2020)
- Jointly establishes business management company for renewable energy fund(September 2021)
- Establishes investment fund for renewable energy businesses with Tokyo Century Corp., Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Ltd., and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Investment Co., Ltd.(December 2021)
- Supplies electricity procured from solar power plant installed by our company to two Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank locations through off-site PPA(January 2022)
- Installs renewable energy in NTT DOCOMO Okayama Bldg. This off-site PPA system supplies electricity procured from solar power generation installed by our Company(March 2022)
- Signs an electricity procurement contract with Clean Energy Connect, Inc. for renewable energy with additionality(May 2022)
- Commences provision of renewable energy through on-site PPA for prefectural public facilities in Fukushima prefecture(March 2023)
- Commences joint research with Research Association for Technology Innovation of Organic Photovoltaics on photovoltaic power generation systems using lightweight and flexible "perovskite solar cells" expected to be installed in walls, curved surfaces and other applications(April 2023)

Wind power generation
- Enters wind power generation business(September 2020)
- Acquires Green Power Investment, a leading renewable energy company in Japan, and other companies. Promotes initiatives for onshore wind power generation(August 2023)

Thermal power generation
- Capital alliance in geothermal power generation business with Furusato Thermoelectric Co. Ltd., a social redesign company in Aso-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture using geothermal power generation and community revitalization as its business pillars(July 2020)

- Capital and business alliance with Forest Energy Inc. for domestic wood and other biomass power generation business(September 2020)
- Participates in a woody biomass power generation project in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, conducted by TJ Group Holdings Inc.(May 2023)
